Privacy Policy

This policy describes how the Roundtable community forum app (the “App”) collects, uses, and protects personal data when a merchant installs it and when their customers use the forum.

Data we collect

When a customer participates in a merchant’s forum, the App stores:

• The customer’s Shopify customer ID (to identify the forum profile)
• A display name, and an optional avatar URL and bio they provide
• Threads, replies, and reactions they create
• Images they upload to forum content

The App does not access a merchant’s Shopify Admin data. It requests no Admin API access scopes and never reads products, orders, or customer records from the Shopify Admin API.

How we use data

Data is used solely to operate the forum on the merchant’s storefront — displaying profiles, threads, replies, reactions, and uploaded images. We do not sell personal data or use it for advertising.

Where data is stored

Forum data is stored on Cloudflare infrastructure (D1 database, KV, and R2 object storage). All data is transmitted over encrypted (TLS/HTTPS) connections.

Data retention and deletion

The App implements Shopify’s mandatory privacy webhooks and honors data requests and erasure:

• Customer data request: a customer’s stored forum data is made available to the merchant.
• Customer redaction: a customer’s personal data is erased — uploaded images and reactions are deleted and the profile is de-identified and unlinked from the Shopify customer.
• Shop redaction: when a merchant uninstalls the App, all of that shop’s forum data is deleted (approximately 48 hours after uninstall).
